Troop 155 is fortunate to have First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach as a charter organization. The church’s cooking team, the Sons of BBQ, gave the scouts their first lesson: an introduction to Met Preparation, Industrial Kitchen and the Industrial Barrel Smoker.
Scouts cut up 10 pounds of onions and prepped pork butts and baked beans for a feast for 275 youths visiting the church. In addition to prepping the food for cooking, head chef Bill Inman gave the scouts a tour of the kitchen, how to operate different appliances and and introduction to smoking meat including a tour of the barrel smoke and an explanation of direct and indrect heat cooking.
The boys had a great time and learned a lot!
