Day 2: Intro to Food Handling, Kitchen Clean Up

The boys arrived at 3:30 p.m. excited and anxious to find out what they would be learning and were put right to work. They enjoyed learning how coleslaw was made. They learned how to massaged the homemade dressing into the cabbage, carrots and purple carrots.

Then they learned the importance of cleaning in between food preparations. Mr. Inman and his crew showed the boys how to chop beef butts for pulled beef barbeque. They then got to clean up and work on mac and cheese preparation. They were quick efficient and got done with all assigned tasks about 30 minutes early, which allowed for Mr. Inman to go over different types of cooking methods and have some small group learning time with them.
